ERacePlanner Triathlon Version - workouts and training templates have been compiled and designed by Australian triathlon veteran and full-time coach, Kevin Cutjar. With 17 years of competition and 10 years of triathlon coaching experience, CoachKev has developed training protocols for all distances and refined these systems for various levels of athletes.

Cutjar began racing triathlons in 1990 at age 24, without previous athletic experience and with very little advice, since the sport was still in its early developmental stages. He fell in love with the triathlon lifestyle, logging a season middle of the pack finishes in his first summer of competition. His passion still continues today, now with over 200 endurance events behind him, including 30 Ironman Triathlons. Cutjar has top 10 and sub 9 hour finishes in Ironman Canada, Couer D’Alene, Australia (Forster), Florida, and Western Australia.

Now a certified Triathlon coach based in Penticton, British Columbia (home of Ironman Canada) CoachKev works primarily with age-group triathletes. Most of his clients are middle age with full time jobs, but range from the novice level training for their first endurance event, to seasoned competitors qualifying for national and World Championships, in all distances. Having worked with some of the sports best coaches and trained with some of the worlds best triathletes, CoachKev works diligently at exploring the latest coaching methods and training styles, to pass on to his dedicated athletes.

A few words from CoachKev.

“Over the years, I’ve recognized that people who have the greatest success in achieving their athletic goals, have confidence in their training program and just stick to it. Most athletes don’t need their hand held every step of the way. They need an appropriate training program designed for someone at their level and occasional answers to questions that come up along the way. ERacePlanner provides proven training programs for all levels of triathlete and advice comes through the coach-tips section of our forum. This system provides the fundamental components of personal triathlon coaching service.”

“The same methodology is applied in ERacePlanner training programs that I use every day in my coaching business. There are clear guidelines on workout structure, intensity and duration. Every workout has a purpose. I recognize that most triathletes are busy people who place high value on their time. ERacePlanner programs provide effective workouts, while not demanding excessive training time. Practical training volume ensures that triathlon enhances the lifestyle of working adults, who have commitments outside of their sport”

“ERacePlanner is an easy to use system for structuring and recording your triathlon training and racing. The planning and graphing features help you to stay structured and motivated in your training and ensure you stay on the track towards success at your next event”.

"Following Kevin’s structured training program toward my first Ironman, gave me the confidence I needed on my big day. I followed the program exactly and exceeded my Ironman goal of just finishing, by winning my age group. I felt great thanks to excellent preparation."

“After competing in my first Ironman (Canada 2002), which I finished in 11:30, I signed on with Impact Multisport. Kevin helped take me from an average, middle-of-the-pack finisher to a competitive age-group, podium finisher and 3-time Hawaii finisher.

Kevin’s sound training principles and proven methods allowed me to achieve results that were beyond any expectations I ever had. My Ironman times continued to improve as I worked with Kevin. My 2003 Ironman Canada was almost 1 hour faster than the previous year and I had my first sub 10-hour finish in 2005 (Canada 9:56) to a 9:50 podium finish in Coeur d’Alene in 2006. Kevin took my competitive nature into account when designing my training programs and helping me set my goals. He also helped me nail down my Ironman nutrition and the mental aspect of the longer distance racing. I believe this was a key component in my ability to continue to take my racing to new levels.

My ongoing improvement in the sport and past successes can be directly attributed to the consistent and structured training programs that Kevin provided me for the years I worked with him. As a result, I would recommend his coaching services and programs to anyone from the first time rookie to the experienced elite”

"Now that my 2007 race season has officially ended with the 70.3 World Championships, I wanted to drop you a note to thank you for all of your help and guidance over the last 11 months.  I feel quite confident in saying I would not have been able to have any of the success I did this year if it were not for your skills as a coach.  Along the way, you showed me that racing is in fact the fun part of the process.

I started with you in January of 2007 with, for me, the lofty goal of qualifying for the World 70.3 Championships in March race.  I have remarked many times how amazed I was at your ability to provide me with workouts that were both challenging but not overwhelming and how you were able to customize my plan to accommodate “life” (family obligations, business travel, etc.).

To say my 2007 race results were ‘good’ would be a huge understatement; from March through November,  I recorded  the following results:  age group 1st place, age group 2nd place, age group 4th place and personal bests in virtually every successive race, including the 70.3 World Championship finish.

Pretty impressive stuff for someone who was firmly in the middle of the pack for over 11 years of triathlon racing!

As indicated above, your coaching is the single biggest reason for my improvement.  To me “your coaching” is not merely limited to providing interesting, progressive workouts and training programs, but also includes the many conversations we had about enjoying the training journey and being more than just physically prepared for an event.  Your additional guidance about nutrition planning to compliment the physical work, was invaluable and a further example of your deep understanding of the requirements of successful endurance training.  Your technical understanding of the physical demands of endurance triathlon, is matched by your obvious passion for ensuring an individual is prepared to maximize their potential while having an extremely positive training experience.

I have no doubt that anyone who is lucky enough to enjoy your coaching services in the future will not only receive guidance from a highly competent source, they will achieve their absolute best in terms of personal development while enjoying the entire journey."

“Kevin’s training programs gave me the confidence I needed to go from being a long-distance runner to training for Half-Iron and Ironman triathlon. I was new to swimming and I had never owned a road bike. I learned open-water swim race strategies and very important heart rate pacing for the running and cycling portions of the longer triathlon races. He consistently used his many years of experience to address my strengths and weaknesses along the way – also, successfully modifying my training to accommodate an unexpected neck surgery and still managing to keep me on track to complete a half Ironman four months later. Often triathletes have problems setting up their own nutrition and hydration requirements for long-distance events but using Kevin’s formulas and guidance I never once had an issue with these during my races. I think what stands out most is that he took the time to provide me with a “personal” experience with programs that were 100% made just for me. I am so impressed with his personal training programs that I have now purchased his new ERacePlanner Software - it’s amazing”.

"Just a quick note to say thanks so much for all of your help as my coach over the years. Because of your commitment and dedication to me as a coach, I was able to make athletic accomplishments I never dreamed I was capable of. (Boston qualifier at my first marathon, 2nd place age category finish at my first triathlon – to list a couple). The philosophies you shared with me through your coaching, and your integrity as both a coach and an athlete have inspired me in my personal life as well as my athletic endeavors.  It has truly been my privilege to be coached by you and I’m very proud to have been associated with you and Team Impact Multisport. Many thanks,"

"I've been coached by Impact Multisport for three years and have always felt I was in good hands under the watchful eye of Kevin.  He'll design your program in such a way as to improve your weaknesses and make you a better all-round triathlete.  Whether you are new to triathlon or have been competing for years, there's a lot you can learn from Kevin.  He takes the guess work out of training."

"I signed up for Ironman and CoachKev on the same day. We both had our hands full.  As a first-time triathlete, so green I had never had clip bike shoes, I needed coaching about everything.  I credit Kevin for my having one of the best years of my life. Because of Impact MultiSport Coaching, I met an incredibly supportive group, always felt progress, reached my finishing goals and smiled all the way.  Thanks Kevin!! "
